Import a Word document

Pinery can convert a .docx file into Markdown chapters so you can continue in Write and Design.

Import steps

  1. From the start screen, choose Import Word (or the Word import control in the welcome flow).
  2. Select your .docx file.
  3. Pinery converts structure and text to Markdown chapters in a new book.

What to expect

  • Headings, paragraphs, and basic formatting become Markdown.
  • Complex Word layouts may need manual cleanup in Write.
  • Images from Word may require re-adding through Assets if they did not convert.

After import

Review each chapter in Write, then check Design preview before export.
