How chapters and assets work

The book bundle

A Pinery book is saved as a .pinery package (folder) on disk. It contains:

  • Chapters — one Markdown file per chapter (or section)
  • Assets — images and files referenced from Markdown
  • Stylesheet — fonts, page layout, and design rules
  • Metadata — title, author, and export settings

Chapters in the navigator

The Files sidebar lists chapters in reading order. Drag chapters to reorder. Covers and special pages may appear depending on your template.

Assets

Files in Assets are referenced by filename:

Dragging into the editor inserts that reference automatically.

Stylesheet scope

One stylesheet applies across the book in Design and when you export. Chapter-specific overrides follow rules in your template and the Style inspector.
