Positioning, Pinery 2.0
The story

Built by one person who saw publishing from the inside.

After five years at a major publisher in Brazil, Heberti Almeida watched how archaic the industry could be — and how many barriers stood between a manuscript and a published book. He went on to build iOS apps used by millions: leading iOS development of PC Optimum, Loblaw's loyalty app, then four years at Square (Block, Inc.) working on hardware connectivity. Pinery points that engineering rigor back at publishing: an all-in-one studio that gives every writer the tools of a professional publishing house.

Writers usually juggle separate apps for writing, formatting, and design. Pinery unifies the whole path: a Markdown-first editor keeps writers in flow, a live preview shows the actual book (including a Kindle e-ink simulator), and a design mode to visually control typography, spacing, and styles to create a unique look. Export to ePub 3, digital PDF, or a static website.

With 2.0, writing itself gets a partner. Prose is an AI co-author that lives beside the manuscript — never in a separate chat window — and nothing lands in the book without the author's review.

New in 2.0

Prose, the AI co-author.

Write

Ask, or reach for a skill

Ask in plain language, like any agent — or reach for a skill, a practiced routine for the exact way you're stuck: /drafting-partner co-drafts scenes, /continue-chapter picks up where you stopped, in your book's voice. Teach it your own with /create-skill.

Edit

Suggestions, not surprises

Every proofread and rewrite arrives as a reviewable diff — accept or reject each change, one by one or in bulk. Your voice stays yours.

Illustrate

Pictures from your words

Prose reads the scene before it draws, keeps one style across every plate in the book, and saves finished artwork straight to the project's assets.

Boilerplate

Copy-ready.

One-liner: Pinery is the self-publishing studio for the Mac — write, design, and export beautiful books, with an AI co-author built in.

About Pinery: Pinery takes a book from first idea to published file: a Markdown-first editor, professional typography, and clean ePub 3, PDF, and website exports. With Pinery 2.0, writers gain Prose — an AI co-author that drafts in their voice, edits as reviewable diffs, and illustrates scenes grounded in their chapters. Built by solo developer Heberti Almeida. Free on the Mac App Store.
